As far as the rest of the talented Beckham family, Brooklyn’s younger brothers, 12-year-old Romeo and 9-year-old Cruz, are also rising stars in Arsenal’s youth system. The 15-year-old signed a contract with north London’s Arsenal FC on Sunday, choosing the Gunners over competing offers from Chelsea FC and his father’s former club, Manchester United.. And if Arsenal balks at the Beckham prodigy, other teams will come knocking.
Brooklyn Beckham, David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, is following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a professional soccer player. And Romeo is an aspiring model for Burberry, following in the footsteps of both parents.
David obviously passed along his soccer genes to his kin, but it remains to be seen if Brooklyn, Romeo or Cruz will live up to the hype at Arsenal. His primary duty will be to play with the developmental teams and harness his skills in training before making his debut with the senior team. If any of the Beckham boys can wear the captain’s armband for England; play in the Champions League; win a treble; win league titles in England, Spain, France, Italy and America; become part-time underwear models; and marry one of the globe’s biggest pop stars; then they’ll have only equaled their father’s accomplishments.
The Beckham deal will keep him with Arsenal for the rest of the season, though his chances of suiting up in a Premier League match this year are extremely slim. If Brooklyn impresses the Arsenal brass like he did in the training sessions, he will earn a long-term deal with the club
